  • Guy is right, an Ultrasound does not expose a patient to Radiation. However, lung nodules cannot be seen with U/S nor can many abnormalities in the abdomen be seen with U/s. It has many limitations. It is also nearly useless in evaluating the brain in mature adults.

  • I think Path hit the nail on the head. Let MD;s who are trained do what they are trained for. Cardiologists do not evaluate the lungs, bones and chest wall with any adequacy in spite of what eric says, they are not not trained to do so.

  • No radiologist gets $500.00 for ANY study, supply will not change charge and Guy is right, the cost is controlled by 2 entities, medicare/caid and the major insurance companies. What they pay is ALL one can hope to be reimbursed. They FIX the cost.

  • Well thought response, many to blame here, nobody should be proud of the outcome. Would there be much difference if the abscess were discovered 48 hours earlier?? Hard to say, need Neurosurgery and rehab specialists to chime in here.

  • As a 50+ physician, this HAS been around for over 100 years but it is Non-Specific and only indicates an increased risk of heart disease. What that disease is will need further work-up, and yes, tests.

  • To Rich in NY: I agree with he other writer who appropriately chastise you. You fail to see it is NOT the systems fault. It has nothing to do with minimum wage, it has to do with personal pride and personal morals and the 3 who abused a defenseless elder should be put in prison.
